Pursuing the Dwarfs
Small worlds, extraordinary stories — from Pluto to the edge of the solar system.

When Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006, it joined a newly defined family of small worlds — and that family turned out to be far larger, stranger, and more scientifically interesting than anyone had anticipated. Dwarfs is Aeon Immersive's fulldome exploration of these diminutive but extraordinary worlds — Pluto, Eris, Ceres, Makemake, Haumea, and the growing census of Kuiper Belt objects that populate the outer solar system.
The show covers Pluto's discovery, the controversial 2006 IAU reclassification, and the extraordinary revelations of NASA's New Horizons mission — which revealed Pluto to be a geologically active world with towering ice mountains and a nitrogen glacier. Dwarfs reframes these worlds not as a tale of demotion but of discovery — revealing the outer solar system as one of the most scientifically rich regions of our cosmic neighbourhood.
